Make a natural soy candle from start to finish in our Brooklyn studio at Industry City. Blend your own fragrance, pour your wax, and finish with dried flowers and hand-shaped wax roses. No experience required. $90 per person, about 2.5 hours. Public classes and private bookings for groups of 8 to 80.
What Happens in a Soy Candle Making Class?
Over about two and a half hours, you make one natural soy candle from beginning to end. You start by blending a fragrance — mixing essential and fragrance oils until you land on a scent that feels like yours. Then you pour your own soy wax, set the wick, and finish the top with dried flowers and hand-shaped wax roses. You leave with a finished candle in its jar, ready to burn or give.
It's a slower, more hands-on take on candle making than most classes in the city. Nothing is pre-made and nothing is rushed — you do the pouring, the scenting, and the decorating yourself, with a candle artist guiding each step. Most guests arrive having never made a candle before.
The studio is in Industry City, Brooklyn — a ten-minute walk from the 36th Street subway station on the D, N, and R lines.
